Box tree moth populations have grown rapidly in the past 10 years and the insects are now one of Britain’s most common garden pests. Adult box tree moths emerge at least twice a year from caterpillars that have over-wintered in box tree plants. The caterpillars begin foraging and stripping the box tree leaves as the weather warms in early spring, and then pupate to emerge as moths during the summer months.
Box Tree Moth Pheromone Traps, from Defenders, will help to break this life cycle and protect your box trees naturally by trapping adult moths during the growing season. You can easily monitor moth catches in the see-through trap, and refills are available as required. Box Tree Moth Pheromone Traps are highly effective and completely Poison-Free. The traps have been specially designed to keep birds, bees, non-target species of wildlife and pollinating insects free from harm and accidental trapping.
For best results hang in early Spring and then throughout the growing season.
